Photography Sessions

Santa and Mrs Claus are available for photography sessions year round! Our booking requirements for photographers is a minimun of 3 hours. Our starting rate is 150 per hour which includes both Santa and Mrs Claus. If you have only ever worked with Santa alone, you have missed out on the value of having Mrs Claus there as a helper. As an award winning portrait photographer with over 12 years of experience in the industry, I have a keen eye for details that can be invaluable in helping you ensure that you are capturing images your clients will love and want to purchase. My role is to help Santa, take care of the little details, switch out props, help with children who may be shy or hesitant to visit with Santa. I arrive with Santa in full costume that compliments his wardrobe so I can step into the photos if needed. See the FAQ’s below for more details on what we offer. Once you are ready to book, please fill out the booking form and we will get back with you ASAP on our availability and with a price quote catered to your session needs.

Photographer’s Quick Checklist for Working with Santa & Mrs. Claus

  • Book Early – Secure your date well in advance; our calendar fills quickly.

  • Confirm Wardrobe – Choose between traditional Santa attire, Old World style, or other options.

  • Prepare the Set – Provide a sturdy chair/bench for Santa and space for families to gather. Keep props festive but not overwhelming.

  • Schedule Wisely – Whether you are offering short “mini” sessions or a full Santa Experience, we suggest allowing sufficient time in between clients to allow for children who may need a minute to warm up to Santa. It is our goal to ensure that you get images for your client they will treasure for a lifetime.

  • Stay on Time – Sessions running long may incur additional fees (billed in 30-minute intervals).

  • Plan for Shy Kids – Allow flexibility for gentle introductions. Puppets, books, or Mrs. Claus’ presence can help children feel comfortable. We bring all of these along with a few other tricks and tools!

  • Clarify Promises – Santa listens to wishes but does not guarantee specific gifts.

  • Promotion & Media Use – You may use images of Santa & Mrs. Claus in promotional materials (with credit when used publicly/commercially). We also ask that you provide some of your favorite images for us to use with our own marketing.

  • Maintain the Magic – Santa and Mrs. Claus remain in full character from arrival to departure.

  • Supervision – A parent/guardian must always be present with children. We are not babysitters and neither are you!

Our goal is to work seamlessly with you to create magical, stress-free holiday sessions that families will treasure forever.

Frequently Asked Questions for Photographers

  • The earlier the better! Many photographers will book their Santa up to a year in advance. While we are available year round, Santa’s schedule quickly fills up for the holiday season.

  • When to offer Christmas sessions is a great question and there is a lot to consider! If you offer printed products, offering sessions earlier in the season gives you, the photographer, more time to edit, retouch, order and deliver product before the holidays so that families can display and enjoy the images during the holidays. It could also mean increased sales as some families may want to purchase printed products for gift giving. A few things to consider when setting your dates are the type of sessions you are offering, your target age range, the availability of your clients, how many days do you want to offer sessions, do you want your session dates to be back to back or spread out? These are just a few things to consider but no matter when you decide to offer your sessions, the key to SOLD OUT SESSIONS is a great marketing plan!! Christmas sessions in July work great for photographers who know how to market them!

  • Yes! When you book us for your photography sessions, one of the first things we will ask is about your set. Santa has a traditional “Coca Cola” style suite with the white fur as well as an Old World style suit with dark fur. He also has a variety of beautiful vests, a leather work apron, and a bakers apron. You will be presented with several options and will be able to choose the suit that best fits the aesthetic of your set. Mrs Claus will always dress in clothing that compliments Santa.

  • Our fees for photography sessions start at 150 per hour which includes both Santa and Mrs Claus. You must book us for a minimum of 3 hours. Once we receive your inquiry we will check our schedule. If we are available for your requested dates we will send you a confirmation and an invoice. We require a 150 non refundable deposit at the time of booking to secure your date and time. The remaining balance is due by the date of your session.

  • Yes, you can, but why would you want to? Mrs Claus is a great assest for Santa and for the photographer. She is there to help Santa to ensure that he looks his best and that all the little details are taken care of. She can also help with children, especially those who may be shy or hesitant to visit with Santa. Mrs Claus will be in character and dressed to compliment Santa. While she is not there to be present in the images, because she will be in character you will be able to pull her in at any time if she is needed to help with a child. If you just need a Santa for your session, the hourly rate is still 150.

  • Unfortunately if you schedule photography sessions with Santa and you have clients that do not show up, Santa still has to be paid. This is why it is good practice for you to collect a booking fee from your clients ahead of time.

  • You will need to provide a large chair or couch. Ideally you want to make sure that “Santa’s Throne” is large enough for him to be able to comfortably sit small children on his knee.

  • Santa and Mrs Claus always travel with a variety of props, books, magic tricks and other tools to engage the children and help tell the wonderful stories of Christmas! Our bag may include props like our reindeer bells, the Nice List, small musical instruments, a colorful globe, puppets, Santa’s magic snow and more!

  • Yes! Santa and Mrs Claus work with all children. If you have children with special needs or sensory issues scheduled you can let us know ahead of time. A child with sensory issues, for example, may be really sensitive to loud noises. For that child we would not bring out any loud props or bells but instead may pull out a plush puppet to use as a prop and will also be sensitive to the levels of our voices. We will always work to accommodate the needs of you and your clients to ensure that everyone has an enjoyable experience.

  • Make sure that you are scheduling your session times wisely and that you are communicating with your clients the importance of them being on time. A client who shows up late should not be allowed to throw off your entire schedule. If your sessions run late you will be billed for any time that runs over your orginally booked time slot. Overages will be billed at 30 minute intervals. If Santa and Mrs Claus are booked to appear at a different event after your session, then we may need to leave according to the originally agreed upon schedule, which means if you mismanage your session time then you may have clients who do not get to visit with Santa.
